DOs & DON'Ts

Waqf-e-Jadid Secretaries:  DOs & DON'Ts

  • Do keep updated your Waq-e-Jadid Tajnid information.

  • Do start taking pledges right after Huzur’s (aba) sermon on Waqf-e-Jadid, which is usually on the first or the second Friday in January.

  • Do start preparing for Waqf-e-Jadid Day right after you send in the Pledge Report so you can motivate all the active members to participate.

  • Do carry the pledge report (Form B) with you on Eids, ijtemas, and jalsas. Remind people personally at these events to pledge/pay. If they inquire about their previous pledge you should have the information readily available.

  • Do keep hard copies of all the reports sent by you as well as Form B.

  • Do check the Totals on the report before signing it.

  • Do make sure that the numbers reported under ‘Last Year’ are the same as those actually reported last year.

  • Do list the names of all the inactive members, with a brief description of what was done to reach them.

  • Do call or email the National Waqf-e-Jadid Secretary if you have any questions.

    DON’T’s

  • Don’t send in form B. It is for your own records.
  • Don’t pledge or pay on behalf of inactive members.
  • Don’t pledge or pay on behalf of active members who cannot pay.
  •

  • Don’t disclose the active/inactive status to anyone except the member herself and to your Local Sadr.
