Attendees: 40 young lajna members

Assisting Coordinators: Wajeeha Choudhry - Philadelphia, Madeeha - Willingboro, Homa Chaudhry - Philadelphia, Aisha Arshed - Central New Jersey, Wajiha Shah - Lehigh Valley
The day began with 2 icebreakers (Spotlight and Name Game)


Identity Workshop

Moderators: Wajeeha Choudhry Philly & Aliya Latif CNJ

After everyone had met and moved seats we watched a video from Real Talk MTA about Islam and Identity. Then discussed cultural identity as Muslims in America, stereotypes versus reality and adopting the good qualities of American culture. Seeing ourselves in a positive light and acknowledging and promoting shared values.


Attributes of an Ahmadi Activity

Moderator: Madeeha Willingboro

Everyone lined up facing the wall and group moderators attached different positive characteristics to their back. They then had to mingle and treat each other like the name that appeared on the person's back without revealing what the attribute was. We formed a circle and explained what attribute they had and how they were able to determine that based on what clues. The hope was that you retain some of these attributes and behaviors

Next we talked about what were some of the things that make Ahmadi Muslims unique, whether social, spiritual, or national advancements Ahmadis have contributed to. Also what idealogies make our community dynamic, different, and such a blessing, with the over arching theme being Khilafat. [Read more]
