MODULE: Love of Allah through Devotion to Sacrifice:

  • Learn the benefits of self-control
  •  Recheck your Lajna’s BMI. Encourage each other to be diligent with weight loss plan
  • Develop the habit of paying attention to hunger cues: eat only when hungry
  •  Sacrifice one food or snack that you love to eat but is not good for your health.
  • Sacrifice a favorite TV program or activity to go out for a walk or exercise during this time instead. Or walk in place /exercise for 20 minutes daily in your own family room.
  •  Sacrifice your sleep to offer Tahajjud Prayer and then go out for a morning walk.
  •  Go out with your spouse for a walk, every day while observing full purdah

Hints for Implementation of Module:

Local Health Sec. can prepare presentations on :

  • "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise".(Ben Franklin) Relate with Islamic teaching.
  • How  to decrease TV time in our homes for ourself and our family and spend more time as a family on excercise.
  • Benefits and blessings of Tahajjud prayers
  • Benefits of walking


Lajna Majalis will be evaluated on following bases

  • If they are following the modules
  • BMI Challenge
  • Once a year sports day
  • Once a year Health seminar
  • How many lajnas participating in web conferences
  • special efforts

National Lajna Sihat-e-Jismani Department has coordinated with Lajna AMMA members a series of health talks for all Lajna members. Please make your best effort to attend and encourage every one else you know to benefit from these informative health sessions. You can either listen to the presentation by telephone, or go to your computer and view the presentation.
