Blessed Financial Sacrifice and Waqf-e-Jadid New Year
January 4th, 2013

Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih recited the following Quranic verse at the start of his Friday sermon today: ‘They who spend their wealth for the cause of Allah, then follow not up what they have spent with taunt or injury, for them is their reward with their Lord, and they shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.’ (2:263)
No one else has the perception and insight into this verse as those who accept the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) have. They make financial sacrifices selflessly and altruistically and they have a desire to spend in this way and if they cannot do as they wish it makes them anxious. Blessings of Financial Sacrifice and Waqf Jadid New Year

Friday Sermon, Delivered by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad ^(atba), the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on January 7^th, 2011 :

“And the case of those who spend their wealth to seek the pleasure of Allah and to strengthen their souls is like the case of a garden on elevated ground. Heavy rain falls on it so that it brings forth its fruit twofold. And if heavy rain does not fall on it, then light rain suffices. And Allah sees what you do.” (2:266)

Financial sacrifice is a directive for the righteous.

Financial Sacrifice in context of the New Year of Waqf-e-Jadid

Friday Sermon, Delivered by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad ^(atba), the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on January 9^th, 2009 :
 

“As to the men that give alms, and the women that give alms, and those who lend to Allah a goodly loan — it will be increased manifold for them, and theirs will also be an honourable reward (57:19).”

"The Promised Messiah (as) elaborating on this verse has said that God does not need money, but He takes it upon Himself to reward those who make sacrifices in His cause to express his love for such people. Therefore any sacrifice made for the sake of God is greatly valued by Him, especially the sacrifice that is made for the sake of propagation of religion is highly valuable in God’s eyes, on the condition that this is done purely to please Allah..."

Giving in the Name of Allah

 Huzur gave a discourse on giving in the name of Allah with reference to  commencement of the new financial year for Waqf e Jadid. Huzur cited verse 263 of Surah Al Baqarah, the translation reads:

 "They spend their wealth for the cause of Allah, then follow not up what they have spent with taunt or injury, for them is their reward with their Lord, and they shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve..."
